These genuine specimens From 150 million year old rocks in Madagascar measure 2 to 4cm approximately.

Ammonites are often used as Index Fossils to date rock layers to specific geological time periods. The earliest ammonites appear during the Devonian, and the last species died out during the CretaceousPaleogene extinction event.

The name "ammonite", from which the scientific term is derived, was inspired by the spiral shape of their fossilized shells, which somewhat resemble tightly coiled rams' horns.

Size, coloration, and pattern may vary as these are natural fossils.

They make lovely ornaments.
