What’s spiky, purple and eats plants? The Polacanthus dinosaur of the early Cretaceous period.

Educate and entertain with this finely detailed, hand-painted Polacanthus dinosaur figurine. With its characteristic spiny back and tail filled with spikes, the Polacanthus is among Papo’s most beautiful and life-like dinosaur figurines.

Polacanthus was a quadrupedal (four footed) ornithischian, or ‘bird-hipped dinosaur’ that lived 125 to 130 million years ago in western Europe. Growing to 5 metres long (16 feet) its body was covered with armoured plates and spikes. Its name translates from Ancient Greek as “many” (polys) “spikes” or “prickles” (akantha).

Solidly built with gorgeous attention to detail, this spiky herbivore dinosaur figurine is a must-have for the avid dinosaur collector, kids play or classroom.
