A fun take on strange non-Newtonian putty. This snow white putty is sometimes a solid that can be stretched and bounced like rubber, torn and ripped like paper, and sometimes a liquid. Mould and sculpt your crisp white putty into a snowman, and dress him up with all the included snowman parts. Enjoy your cute snowman for some-time, and then watch him melt away under the power of gravity. He's just like a real snowman!
Age: 4+ with adult supervision.
70 grams of white putty, plastic snowman parts (eyes, carrot nose, stick arms, top hat and tie). Keep away from fabric and hair, putty does stick. In the event the putty sticks to fabric, WD40 may help.
Melting Snowman putty, just like all putty, is a non-Newtonian solid. This means that it doesn't fit neatly into any one of Isaac Newton's three common states of matter: solid, liquid or gas. Instead, sometimes putty exhibits properties of a solid, and at other times it behaves more like a liquid. Apply a sudden, strong force and putty feels hard like a solid, or just let it sit on a flat surface for a while and it spreads out like a liquid. Strange, melting matter! And an excellent stocking filler!
- The three common states of matter and their properties - solid, liquid and gas.
- Non-Newtonian matter. Weird matter that doesn't follow Isaac Newton's laws.
